Environmental Impact
Independent research on Green House Gases (GHS) abatement consistently identifies lighting and controls as one of the best investments and with one of the largest impacts on GHG mitigation.
Electricity in South Africa is predominantly generated by burning coal. The one operating nuclear power plant at Koeberg supplies less than 6% of the total power generated by Eskom. Generating electricity not only requires the burning of coal but also consumes a tremendous quantity of water which is heated to produce steam to power the generators.
The total process of generating electricity has significant environmental impact as shown below.
Each saved KWh results in the following environmental savings:

Why occupancy sensors?
For most business, climate change has developed from being a peripheral concern to an increasingly more central issue for consideration and decision-making by executives and investors around the globe.
Climate change business leaders have discovered that, besides it being the right thing to do, early and meaningful action on climate change can have significant benefits in reducing carbon emissions.
Not only do lighting controls help to save energy, Electro Sense Proactive Energy Management System™ will help reduce GHG emissions. In fact, lighting controls present one of the best ways to mitigate carbon emissions associated with climate change.
In 2007 a report was released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) identifying electricity as the single largest contributor to greenhouse emissions. Buildings are the largest consumers of electricity.
GHG emissions associated with buildings and appliances are projected to grow faster than those from any other sector.
